At Windcat, we have been at the forefront of providing specialist crew transfer vessels to the offshore industry for over two decades. With a growing fleet of over 55 vessels and even more vessels in build, including the new MK5 series, we are one of the largest CTV operators in the industry. We are adding a new vessel type to our fleet to offer safety and comfort for up to 120 people: six Elevation Series CSOVs are currently underway. To do this we are looking for a QHSE Officer to join our QHSE team, whose expertise in promoting a positive safety culture and adherence to the management system are critical to the success of our long-term plans.
Job Description
Reporting to the QHSE Manager, you will promote a positive safety culture by verifying compliance with the management system and ensuring company standards are met and maintained, with an ongoing focus on quality development across the company.
Key Duties:
- Maintain and improve the company management system.
- Recommend improvements to emergency procedures.
- Coordinate QHSE in assigned port regions, support vessel crews and Fleet Managers, conduct site visits, set up QHSE procedures, and liaise with clients on QHSE matters.
- Conduct incident investigations and recommend preventive measures.
- Ensure operations meet statutory, regulatory, internal, and customer expectations.
- Perform internal audits and inspections, including subcontractor, management system, supplier and shipyard audits.
- Share QHSE information and lessons learned throughout the business.
- Ensure shoreside compliance with legal requirements and provide QHSE support and advice to colleagues in the Lowestoft Office.
- Support and guide the QHSE Administrator and Certification Coordinator.
- Support the QHSE Manager in developing Quality Management processes.
- Organise Risk Assessments and develop Method Statements as needed.
- Identify trends and prepare QHSE safety training and presentations as well as support the creation of QHSE training materials.
- Monitor and update company forms and manuals.
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Proficient in maintaining and improving management systems
- Experience in conducting incident investigations
- Proven experience with internal audits
- Experience with quality management, preferably with a formal ISO9001 qualification
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- High degree of organisational skill and attention to detail
- Ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks
- The ability to work both as a proactive team member and on your own initiative when required
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- NEBOSH General Certificate
- Ability to travel to port regions across the UK and Europe
Desirable
- Experience in a similar marine related role
- ISO Auditing training
- Root Cause Analysis trained
